In this abstract artwork, I explore the invisible barriers that society often places around women. The painting depicts a woman inside a glass box. She can see the world outside, yet she is confined, nourished only by knowledge from books and the sourness of olive. She has the power to shatter the glass and step into freedom, yet societal conditioning tells her it is not her place to do so.
The model for this piece is my wife. One day, I came home from work to find her deeply immersed in a novel, unaware of my presence. Her focus and quiet strength inspired this concept. This work is a call for women to recognize these illusions and step beyond the confines imposed upon them.
If you like, I can also draft a shorter, punchy version for social media captions that grabs attention immediately. Do you want me to do that?
